Haines Halsey and Elizabeth Tower,  Illustrated is an early eighteenth century room from Hampton, NH, a mid-eighteenth century painted paneled room from the home of a prosperous planter of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, a ballroom from Gadsby's Tavern, Alexandria, VA, a painted paneled room of the middle of the eighteenth century from Marmion, VA, a room from a house in Philadelphia built in 1768, a corner of the mid-eighteenth century gallery at the Metropolitan Museum, a dining room from Baltimore with furniture representing some the fine work of the Maryland cabinetmakers, a corner of the Museum's gallery of the Early Republic featuring a Duncan Phyfe sofa, a parlor from Haverhill, Mass., and a bedroom from Haverhill, Mass with the curtains of toile de jouy and the wallpaper once covered the walls of a room in Allentown, NJ.
