Originally the Parmelee Pipe Wrench was designed for use on highly polished pipe and for working in close quarters. It carried an instant appeal to mechanics because of its unique and simple principle, that the Wrench has no teeth, consequently, it cannot bite into the pipe nor more the surface. It's grip is sure and certain for its girth completely surrounds the pipe it grips, just as the thumb and fingers of a man's hand would surround it if it were was gripping a pipe. The use of Parmelee in the Oil Industry has been extended to core drills, sucker rods, pump barrels, casings, rods & cylinders and tubing of all types. With a great variety of girth sizes to fit each of the four handles, Parmelee offers great flexibility in the field. All sizes of Parmelee Pipe Wrenches are furnished with nut locks which operate from the girth end. The handle, girth and lock bolt on all sizes except No. 4 are of drop forged steel toughened and hardened by scientific heat treatment.
