Hard covered book titled WINGS TOWARD THE SOUTH The First Hundred Years of Congregation Agudath Achim Compiled by Susan Gross for Congregation Agudath Achim 9401 Village Green Drive, Shreveport, LA 71106, 1999, 174 pages.
During the 1880s and 90s, a handful of Jews from Sephardic and Eastern European countries began to settle in Shreveport, Louisiana. As their population increased, these pioneering Jews organized informal prayer groups. Their minyanim met for services in members' homes and places of business as well as in downtown meeting halls. Eventually several groups merged to become Agudath Achim Congregation, a name which means "Band of Brothers." This is the history of this unique Jewish congregation.
The book is in VG+ condition, pages clean and intact, and the binding is tight. A must have for any Judaic library!
