Overnight we changed at ALCO to the sort of setup that would get things ready for Tom. That meant going on a 24-hour basis, developing the speed, facilities, personnel for insuring maximum wartime production to the extent of ten time 1939 production. Unhappily, too, it meant deserting the AlSiMag needs of long-time ALCO friends of 40 years standing. We're geared to the war job now, and it's full speed ahead and all its financed without government participation!
