The toy is actually an ice cream container which is converted simply and ingeniously into a drum after it has been emptied. The one-half gallon, tub-type container was manufactured by Lily-Tulip Cup Corporation.

The origin of the ice cream soda is credited to Robert M. Green, a concessionaire at the Franklin Institute Exposition held in Philadelphia in October of 1874. Original ice cream vintage article VELVET FREEZE INC. Spoon Malt, a pre-made chocolate malted, factory-filled drink is shown being produced in Velvet Freeze's plant in St more. Louis, MO. Cups are supplied by Dixie Cup and are filled on Anderson Brothers machine. President of the company, Sidney M. Martin said results of the new drink are spectacular. Spoon Malt is described as basically an ice milk product, with a three and a half per cent butterfat content. The formula is a special one, supplied by Inland Paper's division.
