Sonoscope is an electromagnetic inspection for used drill pipe and sucker rods. It detects and evaluates both inside and outside drill pipe defects and minute sucker rod flaws which could result in failure. In evaluating the signals produced by Sonoscope, Tuboscope utilizes special electronic circuitry called Minimax. The Minimax evaluates the smallest defect in accordance with its actual degree of seriousness. Multiple signals are not combined as one, so there is no chance of recording a series of minor defects as a single major defect.
