Audley Engineering Company, in England, began making plug cocks in 1906, started development of Lubricated Plug Valves in 1916 and first marketed them in 1922. They have been cross-licensed since Nov 1922 with Nordstrom Valve Division of Rockwell Manufacturing Company and close close technical liaison has been maintained between the two companies. Audco Valves are in use in most oilfield and refinery areas outside North America.
