The Venturi Meter is recognized as a standard means of measuring the flow of water in large means. It consists of the Venturi Tube, installed in a section of the main, and register indicator recorder connected to the tube by two small pressure pipes. For the measurement of liquids containing solids, such as sewage or sludge, the air relay transmitter is used to prevent the liquid measured from coming in contact with the instrument.
