Welded Stainless Tubing was developed by Carpenter to meet a demand for stainless steel tubing with uniform wall thickness and low cost. It's chemical, metallurgical and strength characteristics compare with other stainless tubing, and it has price advantages ranging from 15% to 40%. Formed from cold rolled strip in sizes and gauges close to final dimensions, it is subject to little deformation in manufacture. This fact, microscopic inspection of welds, continuous automatic annealing, and 100% hydrostatic testing ensure uniformity and high chemical and mechanical properties in the Carpenter product.
