Original 1941 textile trade vintage ad for CLUETT, PEABODY & COMPANY. (Sanfordized-Shrunk division). Main office and plant was located at 40 Worth Street, New York City, NY.
Sanfordized-Shrunk - The World-Wide Standard of Shrinkage Serviceability.
The patented Sanforizing process for controlled shrinking of fabrics is operated, under license, by leading mills and finishing plants in the United States and many foreign countries. To be offered and labeled as Sanforized-Shrunk, cotton fabrics must be so accurately processed that they will not shrink more than one per cent in width or length when tested by the standard wash test in Federal Specifications CCC-T-191a.
Unbound from a 1941 cotton industry handbook, this unique old one-page advertisement would display beautifully matted and framed. Nice graphics. A fabulous addition to your retro textile library.
