The Eddie Fire Hydrants have many points which should appeal to the progressive waterworks superintendent. For instance, in it a damaged valve can be replaced in a few minutes and at slight expense. And note the other features:

Should the standpipe be broken not a drop of water need be lost.

Water hammer is avoided by the Valve closing against the pressure and the use of the cut-off under the Valve, which gradually closes it.

Stems cannot be bent in closing the hydrants.

Nothing can lodge on the valve seat to prevent closing of the valve.

The drip rod can be removed without interfering with the hydrant in any manner.

The position of the stem of the hydrant indicates accurately the position of the valve.

Whatever can pass the valve opening will pass through the standpipe.

No frost case is necessary.

The Eddy Valve, too, has its distinctive and individual features. For instance, the double disc gates are free to adjust themselves in different positions every time the valve is closed, thereby keeping smooth and tight faces. And two bronze hooks on the ball loosely engage with the gates to prevent them from spreading at the top. The center bearing gates are forced to their seats with equal pressure at all points.
