Hard covered book titled THE FILMS OF W.C. FIELDS by Donald Deschner, 1966, 192 pages.
Bulbous nose, grating voice, cantankerous disposition, mordant wit, blustering manner - these are unlikely ingredients for popularity, but they are what people remember most fondly about W.C. Fields. After a fabulous career in vaudeville and musical comedy, W.C. Fields devoted the last two decades of his life to the making of motion pictures. This book is a comprehensive record of those films (as well as those made before he abandoned his stage career), complete with cast lists, credits, synopses, reviews, and hundreds of photographs.
Of special interest are two articles on comedy by Fields himself and interesting studies of the man and his methods by Otis Ferguson and Heywood Broun.
This book is in VG condition, with the pages clean and intact, and the binding is tight. The dust jacket is faded and torn. A previous owner's name marked out inside the front cover. A must have for any W.C. Fields fan!!
