Waterproofing and dampproofing processes entail little more then the proper use of good, standard materials, correctly applied by experienced contractors in accordance with specifications adapted for the many different conditions encountered. Waterproofing, as the name implies, involves the protection of surfaces which are constantly in contact with water or which are subject to contact with excessive amounts of water for any prolonged length of time.  Dampproofing, on the other hand, involves the protection of surfaces which are apparently dry but subject to dampness caused by rain or by the presence of moisture.
