The G.D. Quick Release Closure is basically a two-piece unit comprising an outer body ring, and hinged door with neoprene seal, achieving very high safety factors without the penalty of heavy sections which make opening and closing difficult. Closures are fitted with one or more safety bleeder locks, these being particularly desirable when the unit is used on gas or light product applications. Removal of the vent bolt releases internal pressure through a vent hole and allows withdrawal of the locking plate, and the closure can be opened after this action has taken place.
