Sno-Lite is an aggregate of white glassy granules, classified to suitable size, a strong silicate mineral weighing only about one-tenth as much as sand. It is made from perlite, a volcanic lava of high purity which contains a small percent of water sealed in the rock crystals. Quickly heated in processing ovens, this locked-in water turns to steam which puffs up the rock granules as the steam escapes.  Advantages are light weight, fireproof, moisture proof, non-sweating, pest-proof, soundproof, resilient and costs less to apply.
