Big Sandy is a self contained motor driven unit which spreads ahead of its wheels. It is built ten feet wide, and spread slightly more than ten feet in order to cover the average state highway in two laps. For covering tar and asphalt in building and maintenance of bituminous roads it is ideal, distributing uniformly any kind of surfacing material at various depths, at a cost so low as to be almost negligible. Whether the material be wet or dry does not affect it, and even large pieces of foreign matter make no difference to this versatile unit.
