Hygrade Miralumes have been created, designed and engineered by the leading manufacturer in the fluorescent lighting field, Hygrade Sylvania Corporation. For years, Hygrade Sylvania's engineers have been working on fluorescent lamps, circuits, reflectors, designs, etc., and Hygrade holds important patents in these fields. As a result of Hygrades Patent Number 2096693, fluorescent lighting was brought out of the laboratory and made commercially available. For this achievement, a Hygrade Engineer, James I. Cox, received a Pioneer Award from the National Association of Manufacturers. As a result of the pioneer achievement activities and research, Hygrade was the first to offer the public a complete fluorescent lighting fixture using standard fluorescent lamps, scientifically designed and constructed.
