Jacob G. Braun came to the U.S. in the late 1880s on behalf of his family to open an ornamental metals business. Jacob did just that with the 1887 founding of the J.G. Braun Company in Chicago. From the end of the 19th and through the 20th centuries, the J.G. Braun Company has developed and maintained its prominence as a provider of products for the architectural metals industry. In 1997, J.G. Braun became a division of The Wagner Companies.
