The oldest major door manufacturer in the country, in business since 1853, the Paine Lumber Company, in 1935, acquired by purchase the title to the United States patent granted the famous Rezo door. This hollow core cell type door was initially used by French naval architects for the great ships of the French line Normandie, IIe de France, Paris, etc. Demanded was a door that could stand the high humidity of the sea without warping or swelling, and that could take the abuse of stresses and strains exerted by a rolling, pitching vessel without alignment troubles. The Rezo door has successfully met these requirements, with the added qualities of lightness in weight and attractive appearance.

The recognition architects and builders have given this original patented cell type flush door is best expressed by the fact that over 1,000,000 have already been installed and parts of the country and in every type of building.
