Original 1936 Oil and Gas trade vintage catalog for PENNSYLVANIA SHIPYARDS, INC. Main office and plant were located in Beaumont, TX.
Manufacturers of Drilling Barges.
This organization, with many years of experience in shipbuilding and ship repairing, has specialized in electric arc-welded steel construction for at least seven years and in using a new type of longitudinal hull framing, (for which patent is pending) whereby much greater hull strength can be obtained. This organization also offers the oil industry a complete service in the construction, rebuilding and repairing of boats and barges of all types and sizes, coincidental with the present trend of development of water properties.
We are authorized agents for building the patented oil drill barges. These oil drilling barges permit the operator to float the entire job, (derrick rig, engine, pumps and boilers) to the water location at about 50% of the cost of the old methods. When location is reached, the sea-cocks are opened and the barge sunk, requiring only a portion of the piling otherwise required, and the well spudded. The job completed, break out a few connections, pump water from the barge, (which rises to the surface) and float to the next location.
Has product images, description, applications and specifications to provide product details.
Unbound from a large rare 1936 Composite Catalog, this unique old one-page technical brochure would display beautifully matted and framed. Nice graphics. A fabulous addition to your retro oilfield petroleum drilling library.
