Liquid Plastic is a protective coating used to prevent rust and corrosion commonly found in chemical plants, refineries, crude oil production, marine operations and similar industries. It can be applied easily by conventional spray equipment to both exteriors and interiors of metal vessels, (tanks, towers, etc), tubular equipment (pipe, casing, etc.), and metal accessories (valves, controls etc.) When sprayed it dries quickly in the air, forming an exceptionally durable and flexible coating. Due to its quick drying qualities, it can be applied in the field. The result is true plastic affording years of protection against rust and corrosion. Basic Vinylite resins are used in Liquid Plastic which are co-polymers of vinyl-chloride and vinyl-acetate. These resins are dissolved in organic solvents, then combined by ball mill grinding with pigments, which are acid and alkali resisting, non chalking and non fading. When properly applied, Liquid Plastic bonds to, and in effect becomes part of the structure to which it is applied. With high film strength, adhesion, and elasticity it will cover 300 square feet, per gallon, per coat. It can be applied directly to iron, steel, aluminum, concrete, masonry and old paints that are not chipped. The coating is not affected by bending, flexing, contracting, or expanding, nor by temperature up to 160 degrees Fahrenheit. When dry, it will not support combustion. It is resilient to most acids, alkalis, sour crude, salt water, salt atmosphere, marine growths (barnacles, algae, etc) and corrosive gases.
