Manufacturers of Simplex Front and Back Labeler. Calvert's Reserve, Special and Old Drum.
Calvert's famous whiskies are admired not only for their fine quality, but also for the unusually attractive bottles in which they are sold and the labels which identify their contents. An inspection of a Calvert bottle reveals that the application of their Special and Reserve labels require an exceptionally delicate and accurate job of registering. An apparently difficult problem, but one that Calvert has satisfactorily solved by the use of a Pneumatic Simplex (front and back) automatic labeling machine. Pneumatic principle of labeling has proved itself the most practical and satisfactory method. The label is applied direct to the glued bottle, guaranteeing greater accuracy of register, a tight flat label, cleanly applied and free from wrinkles.
Unbound from a large 1935 post-prohibition trade magazine, this unique old one-page advertisement would display beautifully matted and framed. Nice graphics. A fabulous addition to your retro alcohol industry library. Prohibition in the United States was a nationwide constitutional ban on the production, importation, transportation, and sale of alcoholic beverages from 1920 to 1933.
