Developments during the war now make it possible to provide Texacone packings which are highly resistant, and in some cases immune, to all of the acids, alkalies and solvents. Various forms are applicable to rotary or reciprocating motions.  The basis of this series of packings is to bond solid lubricants such as graphite or mica to plastics and rubber compositions. These cellular lubricants form flexible and compressible packings having very low friction and high chemical resistance.
