Machines producing tubing on the Kopex principle were first operative in Switzerland as early as 1937. The company, Kopex Maschinen AG, was set up in Zurich for the manufacture and sale of Kopex tubing - many machines were sold by this company throughout the world. Uni-Tubes Limited was registered in England in 1946. In 1950, S. Smith and Sons Limited. gained an interest in Uni-Tubes through their production of car heater tubing and acquired 51% of the shares. In 1963, Uni-Tubes became a wholly owned subsidiary of Smiths Industries Limited and now offers a range of flexible and pliable electrical conduits, connectors and elbows, and all a complete electrical conduit system as well as flue lining and ducting products.

Products include Kopex Electrical Conduit Systems, Liquatite, Kopex Pliable Connectors and Fliteline Convoluted PTFE Pressure Hose & Conduits, all are fully featured.
