Near Carlsbad, New Mexico, The United States Potash Company operates mine and refinery fully equipped with modern facilities for production of various grades of Muriate of Potash and Manure Salts useful to industry and agriculture. Now in its eleventh year of production, the United States Potash Company is an important unit in the domestic potash industry. Both Higrade Muriate of Potash and 50% Muriate of Potash are produced. The Higrade material is being used for chemical purposes because of its relatively low content of Na, Mg and Ca impurities. Both grades are clean, free flowing materials well suited to fertilizer manufacture. Manure salts are also available to fertilizer producers.
