Vellumoid is a strong, compressible sheet packing which the flanges bite into, making tight joints which stay tight; It is for the Oil, Gasoline, Crude Distillate, Water, Gas and Air Connections. In manufacturing Vellumoid, a fiber sheet is saturated with glue, which is 'set' by Formaldehyde, and Glycerine is used to make the sheet soft and pliable - the result is a uniform quality flange packing which oils do not attack and which stands any temperature up to 250 degrees. Vellumoid lasts as long as the flange itself.
